Mint Luxury Conference saw talks by high-end stalwarts
The Mint Luxury Conference that concluded on Saturday in New Delhi was interesting in more ways than one.
While with its theme ‘Luxury in India – The Next Decade’ the guest speakers spoke on the prospects of luxury business in the country, there were also interesting sessions that moved away from the theme and revealed the secrets of luxury brands, its product heritage and the art of making the same.
One of the most interesting sessions during the conference was that of Guerlain perfumer Thierry Wasser’s. First of all, he is a globally well known perfumer who created such famous perfumes as Dior Addict and CK One and for Dolce & Gabbana and Armani and then, he has tremendous amount of wit while speaks. Added together Thierry proved to be a fabulous speaker at the conference who not only provided information about his brand and the art of fragrance making and sourcing its ingredients, but kept the crowd in splits occasionally.
Fulvia Visconti Ferragamo, daughter of the legendary Salvatore Ferregamo connected with the audience with her talk of her brand and its Indian connection that started with her father. Gieves & Hawkes Chairman Mark Henderson, who by now has become a regular speaker at this conference, kept the audience interested as he always did with his interesting talks. Then of course various other sessions with Tigre Blanc chairman Renaud Dutreil, Annoushka’s creator John Ayton, Boffi CEO, Missoni’s CEO Alberto Piantoni, et al.
