Best Shall Win

Remember the days of HDIL Couture Week that used to be held in Mumbai? Well, it was for the first time that a couture week being held in the country when this event started a few years back. And it unfortunately went as quickly as it came… now there is no news of it… boom and it vanished.

The event was full of glamour I must say, it had all the elements of it both on and off the runway. While on the runway it had the best of Bollywood walking with some of the best known fashion designers, especially the one show that Shahab Durazi had after a gap of five years, showing their high end collections, off the runway, on the aisle, there were the best known names from both Delhi and Mumbai’s stylish socialites. Pity it had to end this way…

While it was still on, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) came out with its Delhi Couture Week. Well, Delhi has its limitations as to how much glamour it can pump in on the runway in terms of Bollywood… but this Week also gained its momentum as it went along for the next couple of years. Some of the best known names show their collections in this event even now and of course there are those names that are happy and there are those who are not so happy when it comes to not getting into the list of selected ones for the runway.

And while Delhi Couture Week is on, another one started in Mumbai called the Amby Valley India Bridal Week. While HDIL Couture Week had Grand Hyatt as its venue and Delhi Couture Week had the Taj Palace as its chosen place, Amby Valley India Fashion Week for the last couple of years had the Sahara Star as its preferred venue. Not as glamorous as Hyatt or the Taj, but the organizers chose Sahara Star and the event went on for a couple of years with a few designers taking part in their event. Last year, Tarun Tahiliani closed their event and this time J J Valaya will be opening and Tarun again will be closing the event.

As is the case with any fashion event, here too plenty or murmurs and campaigns have been happening in the last few days on this event. But I always felt that it is better to wait and see how the event is going to turn out. This time the event is being held at the Grand Hyatt and that I see as a positive change. Let’s see how its lineup of designers is going to bring in their collections on the runway and how the turnout of guests going to be… I shall pass my comments on it then…

Again a paid blog but this time in order to criticize BJP-Shiv Sena, she criticizes UNNAMED congress politician, CM, Actress but when it comes to BJP-Sena, she takes NAMES.

These kind of journos are the one who sleep with politicians and go around teaching others morality.

Not fair, Sujataji, not to give a couple of hints about the identity of the couple caught coupling. Have narrowed down the identity of the minister quite closely but the actress remains a mystery.

    Raj,
I agree, my statement is not original but haven’t you noticed that most of the HT journos write same thing with basic underlying theme supporting Congress and slamming opposition.

I am just asking why HT journos are giving Congress especially the dynasty such a long rope.

I hope you should concentrate more on message. I am not going to say same thing in 100 ways just to entertain people like you.

As far as BJP is concerned, they will never get a positive PR from current media because they lack money power, padamsris etc. to buy these journalists.

    Rajeev,

actually, the HT journos, pro-congress as they are, are jeoulous of these politicos who can and do indulge in all kinds of sexual games to flaunt their “mardangi”, while the yuvraj, ostensibly very eligible, goes miles away when it comes to even touching any girl’s hand.

The minister who was often looking up at the camera furtively – it seems he willed the TV Cameraman to catch him in the act of doing a juvenile crime on the Assembly’s floor. May be he was bribed enough by the ruling group to do the needful so that the Karnataka CM and other BJP seniors get the opportunity to remove Yeddy’s men from power. In politics, everything is possible – otherwise no minister could be so careless to lose his job & reputation while behaving like a juvenile delinquent.

This is what is called Paid.Yellow journalism. You said neither the Shiv Sena nor the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Raj Thackeray will dare risk the voters’ wrath so close to polling day on February 16. and right after this sentence you are saying Raj never opposed valentine’s day after split from SS, what kind of hypocritical this is? I dont understand what is the problem with Hindi and English journos when it comes with Raj Thackeray. Go to his rallies and see what kind of supports he gets from the youth. study his speeches. The way Raj pulls the crowd, not a single leader including Rahul gandhi can even touch the number even if he pays 100rs per head. Stop being hypocrite, make your facts right and then start BLOGGING with pure heart and pure mind.

only reason all these pseudo intellectuals do not like raj, is they do not have gandhi tail, in this country leaders can do any thing and get away with it by having that tail, even in this article she never questioned actions of congress men in depicting delinquents photos in obnoxious way, is she supporting gandhian moral police, after all the three idiots acts on par with indisciplined students caught watching third rate cine magazine during class hours, they should be punished but should not be ostracized

Vir Sanghvi, why aren’t you questioning the influx of refugees from Tibet, Bangladesh, Burma, Armenia, Afghanistan etc. into India? But when it comes to Hindus you spot the light on it with a blowtorch. Stop being so anti-hindu.
