Designer Touch

It was only recently that my wife Neena, who edits Marie Claire India, told me that she had come across a box of matches introduced by a young fashion designer. According to her the box of match sticks, other than some stains of colour, had nothing special and looked just like any other but was priced rather steep.

Then I saw the set of cycle rickshaws that had the touch from some of our fashion designers. While some looked really nice and different (because the designers really worked on them), the others looked as shabby and ordinary as the ones you normally get to see on the road.

This makes me wonder why are some of our fashion designers trying so hard to get the attention. In the case of this particular matchbox, who in the world is going to buy that to light a cigarette or their gas stove using a ‘designer match box that costs several times more and looks and lights the same way as a normal one?

I have also seen some of our well-known designers introducing fragrances, pens, etc that cost just the same as some of the renowned ones from the west. I really wonder how many of them sell in the market. It’s not just the designers, even the ones launched by our movie stars face the same fate. They just sit on the shelves and accumulate dust. If you are beginning to think why I am opting for such a negative attitude, please don’t. I make my rounds in the stores and ask around and I am stating my opinion here based on the feedback I received from the market.

Instead of making these kind of valiant attempts that bear no fruits at the end of the day, I feel it would be better for them to try equally hard and make a difference in changing the way some of the uniforms donned by our public servants looked. Their creativity should be used to change the way shabby aspects of the public dealings. After all, even for the existing uniforms the government is shelling out huge amount of money and if the same can be used to create some thing that is aesthetically pleasing then why not?

With the Commonwealth Games approaching fast, it will be great idea if our fashion experts can make a difference to the way New Delhi looked!

Snooze phase may be because US is now unsure who they are talking to.
They know who who they are talking to in Pakistan but if all their talk in India end up with talking to a sympathiser of Pak entity by disguise how they are going to sell it to their people?

There are no real India US relations because indians could not able to understand US Policy which sucks.US had been supplying all deadly weapons and war planes to Pakistan in the name of fighting against extremist but they have been used all the time to kill Indians.America has supplied F 16 to Pakistan several times and want us to buy those planes which Pakistan has them and knows its technology.America has never been true friend to india and it has been all just to show off.USA knew every terrorist is trained by Pakistani military and mumbai carnage was carried out by ISI and still want to find out commonlity between kabul embassy attack and Mumbai. What a joke, please find out that commonality for yourself because you have never helped us in past and never will,America stop playing this duplicity game because we already know about you.One thing more Indians think Democratic Government is good for india and GOP not but i can tell you both are not good and Indian should solve its problems themselves which is not difficult if we have honest government.

There will never be a peace process in the Middle East for one reason and one reason only: The Arabs don’t want it. Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon explains why.

Next time your left wing or Muslim friends tell you Israel is the problem just show them this video and the one below.

There is visible outrage on the streets of Jordan where talk of moving Palestinian refugees from Israel to Jordan, has the people, a majority of whom are Palestinians themselves, in an uproar.
Annihilate the Arabs. Start with the women and children. Once their “next generation” is destroyed and their ability to reproduce destroyed, the remnants will fall onto their knees.

No other way to be sure. The only way to stop that cancer.

Let me put here few Sura’s from Qur’an to point you that every Muslim reading Qur’an and praying to it…————————–>

“In Islam, all non-Muslims are called unbelievers or infidels. The treatment of the infidels in Islam is divided into two categories. The polytheists, pagans, idolaters and heathens have the choice of converting to Islam or suffer death. The Jews and Christians, whom the Koran calls people of the book, can retain their religion but on the sufferance of accepting humiliation and subjugation to Islam and payment of Jizyah (poll-tax) to the Islamic rulers [For more detail read this article: Unfettered Religious Freedom in Islam – A Fact or Fiction? - by Alamgir Hussain].”
Now, let us have a closer look at what the Koran says about the infidels:-

Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them(2:191)
Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood (9:123)
When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them (9:5)
Kill the Jews and the Christians if they do not convert to Islam or refuse to pay Jizya tax (9:29)
Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable (3:85)
The Jews and the Christians are perverts; fight them (9:30)
Maim and crucify the infidels if they criticize Islam. (5:33)
The infidels are unclean; do not let them into a mosque (9:28)
Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies
    (22:19)

Do not hanker for peace with the infidels; behead them when you catch them (47:4)
The unbelievers are stupid; urge the Muslims to fight them (8:65)
Muslims must not take the infidels as friends (3:28)
Terrorise and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur’an (8:12)
Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorise the infidels (8:60)

Following comments have nothing to do with this article. Nice write-up!

But I would surely like to add answer what someone here has said about Islam. Islam says ‘Love thy neighbour.., help them, treat them nicely, never hurt anyone, do a good deed atleast once a day(sadaqa), give alms, help the needy and poor. Dress modestly, respect human beings (both believers and non believers), spread peace and the list is long…’

The brouhaha is basically to stand up for the middle men who interact with the farmers and the wholesellers in the food grain sector, as they contribute funds as well as votes to so many political parties in the country. The politicians are hardly bothered about the small kirana stores – these stores neither donate any funds nor do those pops and moms turn out to vote for the local candidate. Nothing wrong in standing up for fund-givers and voters as such; in fact the politicians are being loyal and proving their fidelity to their “customers”. However, these middle-men are smart enough to get around the MNCs – in fact they would become custom clearance and Toll clearance agents for the MNCs, for example. So this shor of the politicians against the expected advent of the MNCs is somewhat misplaced.

Voting pattern during elections in India are very complex to understand, and this is the reason why voters have taken media and analysts by surprise. Against the perception of I think a majority I predict a surprising result coming out in Gujrat this time for the following reasons.
    1. CM Modi has annoyed many of his senior party workers at state level, owing to exit of Keshubhai Patel from the party.
    2. Even the influential and strong leaders at central level of BJP are against Modi, given his national aspirations.
    3. 2012 elections are being held in ABSENCE of any issue that can polarize the voters. Even on repeated instigation by Modi, Congress has averted a communal issue to prelude.
    4. Modi has erred a section of RSS-VHP, that has been traditionally mobilizing votes for the BJP.
    5. The issue in elections is Modi. The BJP has failed to mobilize corruption and price rise a election issue in Gujrat. Anti incumbency hence will be tested on Modi Government and not on Manmohan Singh Government
    5. It takes only a 5% swing in a Biparty framework like Gujrat to make or break.
A scientific analysis of voting pattern and a play of above factors will make results interesting as they come.

Adolf Hitler was “the Champion for the Cause of the Supremacy of the Aryan Race in Europe” in 1930’s and early 1940’s!Sangh Parivar adopted its later version-’Hindutva’- as its main plank!Modi cleverly made it his banner and availed Hitler’s “Volksgemeinschaft”strategy to develop his personality-cult
among the youth and women in Gujarat! BJP’s “hype”about his admirable administration and developmental achievements during his decade-long rule led him to float on the ninth cloud and let ambition grow sky-high!His eleventh year of rule saw ministers and politicians being sentenced to long terms of internment due to their roles in 2002 riots! In its wake came the assembly
elections in December!BJP was much worried hence it laid down the condition
that if he delivered Gujarat to it ,forthe third time,he will be made BJP’s “PM Candidate for 2014 elections”!Modi got victory, however, it was a”Pyrrhic Victory”only! Within hours after the results were made known, he started playing the role of a PM aspirant! Will he succeed is the million dollar question now!
