Gayle force hits IPL
Chris Gayle is apparently not amused with Shah Rukh Khan not retaining him in his squad. The West Indian has though murdered every bowler who has had the misfortune of bowling to him, but he has been particularly harsh on his former franchise.
The left-hander came from the West Indies blowing hot and cold after he was ignored for the national squad (or was it the other way around), and took out his anger on Knight Riders by smashing a sizzling hundred in the very first game.
On Saturday, after annihilating quite a few other teams after that scintillating hundred at the Eden Gardens, he again gave hard time to King Khan’s team. Pounding a senior pro Brett Lee and rookie Jaydev Unadkat with similar disdain, he helped his team to another win.
His imperious form must be giving sleepless nights to KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir. Not just because he’s been the deciding factor in their two encounters, but also because Gambhir will have to contend with the big left-hander when he leads India in the upcoming tour to the West Indies.
He would be fervently hoping that Gayle either loses his touch by then or the West Indian board again keep him cooling his heel.
