This is an absolutely true story. A friend of mine who runs one of the UK’s biggest magazine companies was planning to open an outpost in India. Naturally, he was inundated with offers of collaboration from scores of Indian publishers, businessmen, wheeler dealers and crooks.
One offer seemed particularly interesting. A publishing group (I use the term in its loosest sense, actually it was just a rich woman) mailed to say that their fashion magazine was enormously successful. They were therefore the natural partners. Read more
