Navin is a nationalist. That’s why he contributes to the election fund of both the main national parties, i.e. the BJP and the Congress :)!! A fact but am mentioning this in jest.

There is this gentleman by the name of Mr. Mandeep Bajwa that I know. He has been unfurling the national flag in his village in Punjab for the last 30 years on Independence Day. Especially during the insurgency!

That’s the beauty of our country. There are n number of people who have their own story. Swati’s nationalism or Navin’s or Mandeep’s or Chaudhry’s or anyone’s is their own and can not be compared I feel. A soldier who died for the country but did not fight a legal battle is no less a nationalist.

Someone’s story gets highlighted while someone else may not even want to publicize it cos he feels that emotions (including Nationalism) are best kept private or someone (even Navin Jindal) may not even have a say in the fact that the story gets highlighted.

So it is not even a debate in my opinion :)!!

Yes, indeed he was an illliterate buffoon with a desi afro that had a patch in the thatch, sorry if I sound racist but skin as dark as coal, a put-on unnatural twang and not wanting to drink water over idlis because it would increase the calories and capacity of his stomach and calling us all natives. Yet the description given to my father by the one who sent him was “he is a nice, handsome, refined young man… etc. Ha!

I never got what mother teresa did for other than hobnobbing with despots fo the world..

I was under impression she built hospitals but now she just built a place for sick to enjoy their sickness and revel in pain.. Glorification of pain is in Mother tera ashram culture.. Sicks are not even given pain killers..

She denoucned abortion fine she denounced divorce but like a true opportunist made an exception for Princess Diana..

There are hindu dharma gurus who have left 100’s of real hosptials . hospitals where sick actually get treated as opposed to the pereptaution and contutiation of their sickness and pain in Teresa Ashram

I don’t see any ambiguity in the Nobel Laureate’s reaction. There must have been at least 100 Nobel winners in this decade. How many have been written about by the Indian journos ? Just congratulate the fellow and move on. If we can stoop to the level of taking pride in Mother Teresa’s Nobel prize and grant her a Bharat Ratna why crib about the NRIs ? This is double standard.

Why is it that Indians from India don’t win nobel prizes?
It is because we do not allow brilliance amongst us for fear of looking like incompetent fools.

I am pretty sure your father had the worst sample lined up for you.No sane person talks like ” I didn’t expect native to be this advanced. Most probably the gentleman concerned was illiterate buffoon. I can;t fathom any educated guy visiting someone;s place and talkign like that.”

but then again few idiots like those are everywhere, I have had misfortune of meeting those samples from pure bred Indians living in India.

Statistics 101 , anecodtal evidence do nto prove or disprove anything so unless you have done a scientific poll do not pigeonhole people into categories.

Utter nonsense you are spewing about NRI this and Nri that. Au contraire I keep reprimaning people back home the moment they start singing hosannas of USA/Canada/UK.

Even this nobel laureate have been very humble and at no stage talked down his Indian colleague..

These laymen mediaperson have at best dubious grasp of science and science talk and have confused his matter-of-fact words with obvious tinge of anguish as some sort of gloating.

Asfar as Shashi Tharoor is concerned, he was arrogant all along it’s nothing new.. I have watched his interview of a decade back on youtube and it was all about I this and I that.

Still i would say he is much better than the nova rich class living in india. Their whole world is geared towards blanket aping of west and looking down upon the fellow less fortunate Indians. In my view this class has no right to call anyone arrogant.

Good for you that you decided to stay in india. I for one moved abroad to get PhD. In course of time somehow; despite my best efforts to not to; ended up marrying an ABD( my wife is not going to like this description). Now all my efforts are geared towards convincing her to move back to India. God willing pretty soon I will be successful in thsi endeavour.
