I am impressed with this blog. Surprisingly I challenged myself trying to create one like this too, but not sure how to do it. What is this “blogging” software? Is it difficult? Is it necessary to be well versed in computers to make a blog? I am hoping to put together a similar blog for my essay writing writing website. Can the platform be meshed into a current website?
I’m very tickled to I create this post. Thank you for sharing us rigorous info.

Sonia Gandhi is scheduled for a flight out to the US of A for a routine check-up tomorrow. I hope she has given instructions to the next in command to concede some ground for the BJP to re-think its position of disrupting the parliament.
I tend to agree with you when you say…
“…the logjam continues in the absence of the government offering and the BJP agreeing to a middle ground”
Has the government offered any middle ground yet? BJP would surely get back to debating the issue if the arbitrary allocation of coal-blocks to private companies is cancelled and an investigation is ordered to look into the issue. We can let the PM continue for some more time. The ball is in govt’s court.

a) I hope it wont set back progress on power plants.
b) WOuld this have happened without the big logjam in the Parliament
c) I hope the Commission Khors ad chors in the government return back the kickbacks

Remember, that Modi has been discussed, vilified and all the extra constitutional forums used to malign him and BJP. Now why, BJP should behave in an examplary fashion?? All the scams, vote bank politics, even at the expense of national security and worst kind of double standards have become present GOI’s hall mark. Why media is not providing level field for all political parties, kuchh percentage ka mamala hai kya???
Mr Sharma, can you confirm that the parliament debates on 2G, CWG or Indian money stashed abroad have borne any results after so months of debating?
Mr. Vinod Verma,
Your comments do not seem to go by the present situation. The Congress has made its habit not to accept its mistakes. Even in JPC and PAC, the Congress does not allow other opposition members like BJP to say anything against them. what is the use of JPC and PAC? Have you seen any time the Congress accepting its failures and the Tag oif Corruption. They always guve explanations. Who are the to criticise the CAG? If they criticize, it goes wqell with them and if Opposition criticizes, it does not suit them. Why then not to destabilize the Parliament,. No where in any Forum may it be the Parliament, JPC or PAC, did the Congress fair well. They aree dependent on the support of undependable MULAYAM SINGH YADAV. This Copuntry has awaken niow and it is not the biirth right of only Gandhi Nehru family to rule this country. This Congress Party has looted this country and all Corrupt Politiciuans are in the Congress. It has become a Bread and Butter of Congress toi ruule the country by proxy and take benefits. This is not going to be in future. You should also open yoyur eyes. These Congressmen do not allow the JPC and PAC to function and even the parliament. Do you see how the Congress Minister Mr. rajiv Shukla asked the Presiding Officer toi dissolve the Parliament? Then how can you say the BJP is not allowing Parliament to Function? It is the Coingfress that is avoiding to take blame.
If I remember well, this is Congress party’s nemesis catching up with them. Wasnt it Sanjay Gandhi who set the stage for disruptions in Parliament some decades ago?
Would love to see debate return to parliament, but maybe we are hoping against hope.

Husband and wife had a fight – a common occurrence in every family – .
Husband shouted ‘ You are not even good in bed ‘ and stormed out of the house. After few hours when he calmed down he called home, after many rings his wife picked up the phone
‘ what took you so long to answer the phone’ he asked. ‘ I was in the bed’ she replied. ‘ in bed? At this time of the day’ she said ‘ “your friend dropped by so I thought of taking second opinion of what you told me earlier”
Good morning friends.

Am on travel… to Mohan’s favourite countries but no harm in posting from a hotel lobby.
a) Fact of the matter. even small countries in South East Asia beat us in infrastructure. The mother of all– China beats us hollow.
b) As already predicted by me, Mulayam Singh has a good chance of becoming the PM. Afzal Guru and Kasab can now welcome a 100 year life well lead, 22% inflation would be back and the cabinet will have goondas of all shades including kidnappers soon. FDI would soon retreat and kidnappers in hinterland may well hold entrepreneurs to ransom. Congress style crony capitalism is back in full measure.
c) Even In Thailand and HongKong resentment against Muslims is growing. The problem is basically because Pakistani travelers and citizens end up breaking laws here and inciting local Muslims to claim their Muslim identity above their national identity. Thailand has separate prayer rooms for Muslims in most hotels nd even at the airport ( when most travellers here only pray for one thing !).etc etc.
The locals commented that we are Buddhists, hindus and Christians… why no seperate rooms for us?
I guess it is an extension of the pampering of Muslim minorities world over which causes resentment. Just becasue a grand mufti in Saudia pronounces something, the Indian minoity commission and government will forget human rights and just be extra deferential.
Will write again from Shanghai… if this site is accesible.

NDTV is a past master at this kind of fake opinion polls, snap surveys, exit polls and what not. They also are experts, with their fossilised psephology, at “seat adjustments”, so that the congress is not unduly alarmed. If he had given the true picture of the dynasty getting 2 digit seats, I bet SOnia Gandhi would have cancelled her foreign trip and summoned the doctors from US to come here and examine her.
You can see how they have manipulated the seats if you observe the state wise figures.

The duty of the political parties is to govern India with just administration and equitable distribution of the wealth of India. The rule of Parliament and conduct is to enable this. When the ruling party, leveraging the majority commits attrocities like the one under discussion, you should do whatever is possible and stop the Government from undoing this. BJP is just doing this.
Sonia Gandhi’s meeting Sushma Swaraj shows that she is one hell of a confused lady, who lacks the traditional Indian cunning and consequently only goes by what her domestic servants tell her to do.
Only two days ago, she ill-advised her MPs to “stand erect” and fight the BJP. Now she herself bends and meets a lesser functionary of the opposition!
As for Vinodji’s ;lament, the BJP has a strong point that there is no pooint in a two day or three day debate, because things will remain as they are after the debate.
Last year, the congress bitterly opposed the formation of the JPC and forced the entire opposition to block the parliament. Subsequently the government yioelded and the JPC was formed. Now the same congress has destroyed the JPC by paralysing its working. The same holds for the PAC, in which the congress had shown unshakeable faith vis-a-vis the JPC.
Therefore, Pathakji, you are skating on thin ice.
Sambhal ke chaliye, kahin paani mein gir na jayen!
Don’t cancel coal blocks, levy high royalties
Opposition parties want Manmohan Singh’s head for supposed corruption in 57 coal blocks that were allocated, not auctioned. The government is under pressure to cancel the allocations. That would be politically, legally and economically wrong.
Politically, it will look like a confession of crookedness. Neither the CAG nor anybody else has produced any evidence of kickbacks. That makes it very different from the 2G case.
The CAG estimated that 2G spectrum auctions might have fetched Rs 1.86 lakh crore. But that was a criticism of policy, not evidence of kickbacks. Former telecom minister Raja was indicted not for failure to auction spectrum but because he perverted the first-come first-served policy into a first-served then-come policy, favouring friends.

nion Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai used his friendship with former

Sahai’s brother Sudhir Kumar Sahay was a senior functionary with SKS Ispat in

serious about setting up the Rs 3,174 cr integrated steel plant of 1.1 MT

It would be interesting to recall the first meeting of Shailendra and Raj Kapoor, Shailendra as a college student was at a Kavi Sammellan narrated a poem written about the creating of Pakistan and RaJ Kapoor ( tehn helping his father in the Prithvi Theatres) was impressed enough to get to him and offer him the opportunity to write ongs for Aag, his first film that he was struggling to arrange funds for, the idealist Shailendra turned to the then “non-entity” Raj Kapoor and tyold him that his “kala” is not “bikau”. But being Raj Kapoor, he yet persisted and gave his address to Shailendra and requested him that if ever he changed his mind then he could come to Bombay and contact him.
A few years later, afetr getting married adn having to realise thathe had to feed a family, he reached Bombay and requested Raj Kapoor, who immediately offered him to write the song that became the biggest hit song of the 40s, “barsaat mein, ham se mile tum sajan”.
The financial mess that he came into was a direct consequence of his unrestricted drinking and that let him depend entirely on the financial skulldruggery of his Production Manager, durin the making of Teesri Kasam, who did not miss the opportunity to siphon away the money for his own gain.

The chief while leaving the battlefield left with instructions …give it back to them with all your might … so BJP is spreading anarchy…..BJP does not believe in Parliamentary democracy … . The Trojan Horses not to be left behind …. come with their own piece of sane advice for the BJP … come back to Parliament … that is where you should debate and discuss.
Earlier these ladies and gentlemen laboured hard … and gave the same advice to Team Anna and to Baba Ramdev. Parliament is supreme…it is the elected body ..so have respect for it.
These ladies and gentlemen know that Parliament is less about debates and more about Numbers .. and there they will trample all dissenters with their numbers. But this time the Opposition and the Activists will not make that mistake ..and the Rulers look a little crest-fallen .
So what will they do ?. Naroda Patiya will not help as elections in Gujarat are not far -off and any hype and gloating on that will do more harm than good. …some announcement on the ” Game Changer” … that does not enthuse ….or his more promising sister ….. may be . but that will finish off the “Game- changer’s ” game .
And in the meanwhile the Sher of Gujarat is getting ready . to demolish all . This time they have to really think hard .. maybe they can … or may be not ….let us see.

Earlier Congress had offered cheap house is Gujarat. Now they have offered
free laptops if they win the elections. In India most of the people must be very happy during elections because of freebies offered by almost all the political parties. Shayad unke baap ka maal hai jo free mein baant rahe hai.
Bechare Salman Khurshid sahab has confessed:
Govt losing ‘communication battle’: Salman Khurshid
He says: “What has gone wrong is that coal has been given to someone without charging anything for it. We will charge that person a much higher amount. Are you willing, therefore, to pay much more for the steel you use for your home or the electricity that you consume or for that matter for the cement that you use your home?” Khurshid said.
If that’s the reason why the private companies have been allotted coal-blocks arbitrarily, why stop at that. Give away the rail, bus, IT and customsdepartment and what not – it would all be in common man’s interest as they won’t have to pay for it.
Darda will give dard to Congress…

US daily Washington Post calls Manmohan Singh a ‘tragic figure’
WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been described as “a dithering, ineffectual bureaucrat presiding over a deeply corrupt government” by a leading US daily.
In an article “India’s ’silent’ prime minister becomes a tragic figure”, the Washington Post said Manmohan Singh helped set India on the path to modernity, prosperity and power, but critics say the shy, soft-spoken 79-year-old is in “danger of going down in history as a failure”.

What I suspect the reason for this is that no one in government has been delegated any power to act. It seems
all the decisions have to come to Ms. Sonia Gandhi and she
takes her own good time to react, hence government looks
clueless in all such matters.

A very good article by Era Sezhiyan. It is purely incidental that today is Dr.Radhakrishnan’s birthday and it is worth repeating here his prophetic words:” “If I have one advice to give and if I am presumptuous enough to give any advice to the officers of the audit and accounts, it is this: ‘Do not shrink from the truth for fear of offending men in high places’.”

A great article. The author has ended the article with a brilliant paragraph.
When Hitler came to power in Germany, he proscribed all political parties excepting the Nazi Party; then he amended the law to end all forms of accountability through audit of finance. It is to be hoped that Manmohan Singh and his ministers are not trying to adopt this method to avoid struggling with the cumbersome parliamentary system of a functioning democracy.
Top Police officials’ meet will focus on IM.
This IM has evolved from SIMI. I remember time, when Mulayam and company had given clean chit to this outfit and had embraced Safdar nagori in public. Congress was also treating these traitors with kidgloves. Digvijay had gone to Azamgarh to empathize with them?? So with these recent developments, has politicians got some change of heart and mind regarding SIMI/ IM or still that Votebank policy will prevail??
Anytime, any IM member is caught, you can read e mails, jyadati, police excess, blah, blah.

No CM has ever been hounded by media and government at centre as Modi. He should be given credit that inspite of all this he has reined calm and is performing his duty to the best of his abilities. One more term and Gujarat state will be envy of the all other states of India. I will repeat again what I had said few months back that Modi should claim rolyaty from the reporters who are living off just by criticizing Modi.
I am not sure about these two wrongs.
Nevertheless, disruption of parliament is another situation. I believe, this disruption is for the first time, even after humongous scams, but coalgate appear to be mother of all scams. If BJP thinks that it can take maximum advantage of situation, by disrupting parliament, so be it. Do you think, congress would have not adopted same strategy? sadly you are mistaken here. Is everybody playing by rules?? No Sir. 2G, Adarsh Society, CWG and many other scams were made redundant by referring them to committees, where, by a cobbled majority of votes( Purchased votes) government is continuing. Admitted so much by PM as compulsion of coalation politics. Why public should suffer for the benefit of congress’ desire to be a ruling party and be sole arbitrator of doling favors, mostly to itself.

Wa-Po article is fairly shallow in its content and criticism about MMS.
We know the issues – but they are not the ones that Wa-Po makes them out to be.
As an example – the article talks about lowered economic Growth. Scratch a little deeper and you will realise the co-relation between global macro-economic situation and investments. Not much of which is MMS making. Plus there is this issue of role the economic growth plays (or more aptly, doesn’t play) in alleviation of rural poverty.
Same with FDI in retail. Americans are betraying their impatience and expecting MMS to do what was done during the Nuclear deal. Do we want to repeat that ?
Our polity , in general, and UPA as a part of it has tonnes of issues . Much of them are left out by the Wa-Po article.
In comparison, Paul Krugman’s articles and blog at NYT offers much better insight and depth compared to the Wa-Po article.
Tom-tomming the Wa-Po article metaphorically rhymes a lot with “Tinke Kaa Sahara lekar behna” .
On a different Note, did we notice Mr. Modi’s troubles have acquired a far serious tone ?
More later. Stay well.
Anonymous Reply:September 6th, 2012 at 6:10 am
If you associate depth in the opinions of US papers with praising the non-existent success story of Manmohan Singh and his master, Sonia Gandhi, I can understand your utter disappointment.
You have come down on the US media like a ton of bricks. You know very well it is not only the US, but many other countries too who are flummoxed by the total inactivity of the erstwhile economist. Here is a sample:
“lame duck” – The Economist
“a Tragic figure” – Washington Post
“The underachiever” – Time Magazine
“India’s saviour or Sonia’s poodle?” – The Independent
I expected better from you than this gem of ulta-logic: Economic growth doesn’t play any role in the poverty alleviation of the rural population!
You have also voiced your opposition to FDI in retail trade, bringing your thinking in line with the Mamtas, Yechuris, Brindas and….and …..
Absence from the blog for long periods sems to have dulled your thinking faculties.
As for Modi, didn’t you notice Modi has simply brushed off the Naroda verdict. Even Barkha Dutt accepted the fact that Modi cannot be bothered about these things.

“If you associate depth in the opinions of US papers with praising the non-existent success story of Manmohan Singh and his master, Sonia Gandhi, I can understand your utter disappointment.”

You have only focused on the slowdown of the economy
and FDI and have avoided mentioning the huge corruption this government is involved in. The writer
starts his article with this paragraph –
“Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been described as “a dithering, ineffectual bureaucrat presiding over a deeply corrupt government” by a leading US daily.”
ManMohan Singh who is supposed to be carrying an image of a clean, non corrupt PM has allowed scams to
happen under his nose and did not try to do anything to
stop those and the reason he give is ‘ compulsion of coalition’.
Regarding Modi, I had said on this blog few months back that we will keep on hearing more anti Modi
new before the forth coming elections in Gujarat. This
is only a start, there is going to deluge of such news and most of us will be watching the fun from the sidelines.
Anonymous Reply:September 6th, 2012 at 7:20 am
The article doesn’t end at first paragraph.
Anonymous Reply:September 6th, 2012 at 7:32 am
Well, you focused on later part of the article and I perhaps stopped
after reading first paragraph.
Journalists do exaggerate and write many things to fill up the pages but that does not mean that our PM should not be blamed for some the points which have been raised in the article, mainly about corruption taking place on his watch.
And would love to read your comments on our government’s
approach of demanding an apology from Washing Post.
Anonymous Reply:September 6th, 2012 at 8:59 am
My point is not about infallibility of PM. It is about the wrong blames being assigned. Had we seen a few more deals with Boeings , Monsantos and Walmarts – those same folks would’ve been singing different tunes.
Again – not arguing PM’s infallibility, just pointing out the shallowness of criticism.
As for apology thing – Government has shot itself in the foot. It has ended extending undue credence to the article in whole process. Plus there is this history of being particularly intolerant of criticism. Sometimes , terribly so.
Anonymous Reply:September 6th, 2012 at 9:10 am
As I said earlier
exaggerating and sometimes biased reporting is the habit of most of the journalists.

Not much of which is MMS’s making—–
In 1992, even though economic liberalisation was begun by Narasimha Rao and he installed MMS in the FM gaddi precisely because he would bend whichever way PVN asked him to bend, still our media geva all the credit to MMS, because PVN was not liked by Sonia Gandhi.
Now for the last eight years MMS is the PM and he has brought the country to a sorry pass. And still you say ‘not much of which is MMS making’?

Two points here.
First – What has this got to do with the topic under discussion ?
Second – MMS was *already* credited long before Sonia Gandhi could gain strong foothold in Congress.
“Now for the last eight years MMS is the PM and he has brought the country to a sorry pass. And still you say ‘not much of which is MMS making’?”
Shenoy – just so you don’t miss what was under discussion here.
“Wa-Po article is fairly shallow in its content and criticism about MMS.We know the issues – but they are not the ones that Wa-Po makes them out to be. ”
Surely you understand English Language well enough both in Syntax and Semantics to not have missed out the difference. So, why the urge to deliberately obfuscate and deflect ?

How can the insolence of Washington Post be tolerated ?. When the PM expects that the country that should remain “Khamosh” on his “Khamoshi” , then how can a foreign newspaper write on his failure to discharge his duties.
He said … “there is no question of my resignation” .. why should there be ? Is he accountable to the country ?… no ..but to the woman who appointed him ? I recall he has said in the past that he shall make way for Rahul Gandhi if he comes. So he can consider quitting… only if that situation arises…..none other.

This Khamosh, khamoshi and silent has become so famous that
people have started saying ‘ I have kept my phone on Manmohan mode ‘ when they keep their phones on silent mode.
Former Police Commissioner Ved Marwah has stated on TV ( CNN-IBN ) that he was prevented from Submitting his Report on the Role of the Delhi Police during the Anti – Sikh Riots of 1984 , that all papers and records he collected , were destroyed.
We hope the Honb’le Apex court shall take note of this admission and intervene and issue Notice to Ved Marwah , Union Home Ministry , and all concerned . We do hope it may happen so that Justice is done to the Community which suffered at the hands of the Government of that day.
The Supreme Court has been pro-active in taking action on the complaints filed on the Gujarat Riots, some of which I recall were suo-motu and we are sure that it will take similar action as it does not have double standards like the poitical executive..
Anonymous Reply:September 6th, 2012 at 9:27 am
I don’t thing anything will happen about Ved Marwah’s much delayed “confession”. With the impending exit of the present chief justice, Kapadia and the elevation of Jusice Kabir, the pro-activity may all may diappear.
And congress will continue to feel safe and breathe easy.

My reproducing a letter from TOI has been deleted. It had mentioned achievements of Modi government. Anyway, censor here is very Zalim, does not like Modi at all. It can Tom-Tom others achievements but Modi?/ Na baba Na.
Whereas the reactions of the Congress Party to the Washington Post story ranged from dismissive to critical , the PM and his Office took it very seriously and immediately reacted to it.
It goes to the credit of the US Newspaper that it drew a reaction and the PM broke his “Khamoshi “. That is the difference between Indian Media and the foreign Media.
For the PM of India , the Indian Media … after all Indians read it, is of no consequence , however the Washington Post read primarily by Americans cannot be ignored.

Doesnt look like any thing aimed at Sikhs.
Restriction on the conversion of agricultural land to commercial one is a good policy.
This problem at Kutch. The place, Lakhpat which is mentioned in the article is about 100 KM from where I live. A nice small place not very far from border of Pakistan, there is small Gurdwara where I had eaten langar few times.
Gujarat government has put a freeze on land holding of farmers because of the huge scam/fraud going on there since very long time. Gujaratis, Katchis and Sindhis are the main community who have been affected by this freeze. Sikhs affected are very few in number. In brief this is how this works. :
People there bribe Government officials to become farmers. Than agriculture land is bought at the price of peanuts. After few years again babus are bribed to convert that land into Non agriculture -NA- and is sold at huge profit. This is going on since many years and I know this because I know few people personally who are involved in ths fraud. Some of them are very close to me. About five years ago government woke from the slumber and put a freeze on these lands.
15-20 years old files are being reopened and are being scrutinized. I know some people who are ready to pay even crores to clear their name. It seems some people of vested interested are giving communal color to this issue to put pressure on Gujarat government.

Surely, Ramayana chronicles just one battle of the period of
“spread of the Aryan civilisation through the central-southern parts of the subcontinent as these areas progressively came under Hinduism.”
However, that is looking at Ramayana as a Historical Document.
Devotees read it and interpret it differently, particularly if the devotees have been told to do so, together with supression by force of all other versions of the epic. The problem starts when a discussion takes place between a devotee and a historian, then no common ground exists upon which a sane discussion can take place, it soon degenerates into personal abuse, etc.

Mohan Neelakantan is a young author taking artistic freedom/imagination to tell a story from another character’s perspective. While the artist has all the freedom to do this, the danger, especially in today’s electronic world is that at a time in future, this will be described by a future historian as the 301st Ramayana. . btw Ravana was never a bad king – from the praja perspective- in Aadi Kavi Valmiki’s Ramayana. He had blessings from the same set of Gods and Rishis as Rama had.
Anonymous Reply:September 7th, 2012 at 9:24 am
The beauty of our country is that everybody has liberty to write anything about almost everything specially if it is about Hindu Mythology. Some will be respected, few will be heavily criticized and many will be ignored.
I was expecting Ravi to pick this sentence from the article I had posted ” Neelakantan highlights how the advent of the Aryan civilisation led to the introduction of the caste system in the interiors of the country — a scourge which continues to plague society today.” Either he did not take the bait or he he did not read whole article .
Anonymous Reply:September 7th, 2012 at 10:25 am
Future Historians will have a lot to look at when they start looking.
Unlike today’s historians who use artefacts like “bakhars” – tomorrows artefacts are going to be large in number, requiring different – actually much different – set of analysis tools.
Their artefacts will be storage devices used by different public blog engines, Facebooks, Linkedins and yes HT blogs too.
Another interesting thing is – future historians would be in a lot better position to understand “commoner’s” opinions and sentiments. Much better than the current historians.

ie Manohar extols UPA, Indian legal system etc, while BVS brings up UPA issues..multiply it by thousands..and the truth is somewhere in between
Anonymous Reply:September 7th, 2012 at 5:27 pm
All said and done – there is no such thing as complete Objectivity. Don’t expect the historians to be “completely Objective”. You need to have a point of view – a stand – to make sense of things. Current historians have a point of view. Don’t expect future historians to be very different. After all, you need a bias and point of view to make sense of Data.
And yet – the real objectivity shines through when in defending and debating the methodologies and biases.
Try reading through the history of early days in quantum mechanics – you will understand . Historians are no different.

In the meantime….. Some “interesting” (interesting in more than one sense) news from Europe.
ECB chief Draghi has announced Bond buying programme – attached with some conditions (read that as austerity measures) – for European Union countries in a bid to resolve “Solvency Issues” faced by these countries. Stock Markets world over cheered the news. Skeptics see this move as kicking of can further down the road. Interesting times ahead.
Anonymous Reply:September 7th, 2012 at 10:27 am
Yes interesting times ahead. In Dubai at least after four years of slowdown in real estate market we are witnessing some positive movement. Investors have again started showing interest in property market and banks also have again started mortgaging properties. However, stock market is still not showing any sign of improvement. Where Indian market is concerned, if this current logam between the two main political parties is resolved than I won’t be surprised to see BSE at 20000 by year end.

Why do I yearn for a Lal Bahadur Shastri in every politician ? Am I a day dreamer ? Has Lal Bahadur been rendered irrelevant in the present times ? What have we done to get the political leaders we have today ? Can idealism survive only with economic hardship ? Can prosperity and idealism not walk hand in hand ? The strength of Indian society when contrasted with the West lay in the institution of a stable family , …but has not love for the family also become a major cause of the our biggest bane….financial corruption.
Some questions I keep asking myself …or are these questions themselves irrelevant . That is the feeling I get sometimes.

Gujarat: How the state authorities connived to protect – Kodnani
From: The Indian Express
State of connivance
by P P Rao : Fri Sep 07 2012, 02:22 hrs
The most disturbing finding in the judgment of the trial court in the Naroda
Patiya mass murder case is not only the active involvement of a prominent
senior BJP leader, Mayaben Surendrabhai Kodnani, who hatched the conspiracy and instigated the rioters to commit the crime, but the fact that she was sought to be shielded by the state investigating agency by making every effort to see that her involvement did not come on record. Two questions arise here: first, can the leaders of a ruling political party be allowed to indulge in crime against members of another religion? And, second, what is the role assigned to the investigating agency of the state when a serious, cognisable offence takes place?

A meaningless recounting of the legal position in legalese. Justice was denied to the Godhra train burning victims too by the central government by the railway minister, Laloo Prasad ordering and getting a Banerji commission report, tailor made to subvert justice. Justice Banerji, as the court itself, failed in his sacrosanct duty of doing justice by giving a fake report, of the victims burning themselves! I don’t think Mr. P.P.Rao spoke against this subversion of justice by a justice himself. Therefore, this article, is, by all intent, a biased, partisan and motivated piece of meaningless restating of the law.

Unfinished stories, goes an old idiom in Ajmer, find their denouement in Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s shrine. Perhaps, unfinished investigations do too. Two-and-a-half years after low-intensity blasts ripped apart the courtyard of the centuries-old shrine, the Rajasthan police arrested three men—Devendra Gupta, Vishnu Prasad and Chandrashekhar Patidar. Gupta, an RSS worker, was suspected to have bought the mobile phone and SIM card that triggered off the October 2007 blast in which three were killed. Till their arrest on April 30 this year, the story narrated by the investigators, lapped up by the establishment and reiterated in large sections of the media was that the Ajmer blast was the handiwork of jehadi terrorists……..
