Last week I wrote a blog about Ameen Sayani, a legend of the broadcasting world. The overwhelming response I got has prompted me to share with you how I feel about the way people have started speaking. There is no chasteness in speech and it is a hybrid mixture of thick, heavy and sing song accents. There is no purity of either language or pronunciation. Ameen Sayani will always be known amongst lovers of hindi film music as the King of Broadcasting.
Any Radio listener in the sub continent is familiar with one name that has become synonymous with hindi film music and broadcasting of the highest calibre. Yes I am talking about Ameen Sayani who shot into fame with his presentation of the Binanca Geet Mala show on Radio Ceylon in the fifties. Read more
