The other night at a party, the conversation drifted to which movie stars we found sexy and desirable. The men were asked to name actresses (yesteryear and contemporary) and the women were asked to do the same for actors. The results were interesting. Most of the men listed Rekha and Mumtaz in the older category. Among today’s actresses, the maximum votes went to Priyanka Chopra. Read more

Have you noticed how so many Hindi films have a great first half but just seem to collapse after the interval? As someone said, more people in India have seen half a film than anywhere else in the world (“I walked out in the interval” is not an uncommon refrain. For the record, I’ve never walked out of any film, not even the most bakwas film. So either I have unnaturally high endurance levels and pain threshold or I’m such a sucker for the movies, I keep thinking, ‘maybe now it’ll pick up.’ Of course, in the case of bakwas films, it never does).
